Over the last 70 years getting to or near space has been the domain of multi-billion dollar government funded space programs. In the last decade we've seen more private industry getting involved.  The problem is none of them will give us a ride.  We asked.

Centralized in Greenville NC, this site is dedicated to the backyard "astronauts" that make space and near space achievable safely and affordable for the common man.

So you ask why...  Well, how about this:
"if everybody could do that once, it would completely change the face of global politics, religion, education - everything."
-James May  (while climbing out of the U-2 spy plane after his first ride to 13 miles up.)
"Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand."

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
Astrohack chronicles our various garage born aerial adventures.  Even if our wives would allow it, neither of us had the budget build a rocketship to go up on so we found another way.

To the moon,  Alice.
